Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology recognises that we have a corporate responsibility
to respect our environment and to manage any environmental
impacts associated with our pathology work practices.

Environmental management includes the identification,
measurement and evaluation of factors that could have an
environmental impact, and implementing strategies to
remove or minimise these impacts.

Our company is committed to meeting all
relevant environmental regulatory and legislative
requirements, to achieve continual improvement
in environmental performance and to prevent
pollution.

In addition, we are committed to:
• Reducing waste and our consumption of resources
• Implementing general waste management
principles – reduce, reuse, recycle, treat and
dispose
• Implementing and maintaining best practice
waste management systems for specialised
pathology waste (biological, chemical, cytotoxic,
body parts, sharps)
• Providing education and training for staff
on environmental matters and the
ISO 14001 standard
• Disaster mitigation through emergency
planning which will reduce adverse
environmental outcomes

Management responsibility, together with
employee involvement and commitment
will heighten environmental awareness, which
will in turn greatly assist our efforts towards
continual improvement.

Staff and Community awareness of Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology’s commitment to the
environment is achieved through provision of information to internal and external interested parties. The implementation of policies and programmes have helped raise environmental awareness.

At Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology we will establish and maintain procedures which specify our environmental objectives and targets and allow for their annual review.
