Gold Coast Corporate Volunteering Day

On 10th October, around 30 staff, partners and family members took part in a morning of tree planting, weeding and regeneration at the Federation Walk Coastal Reserve, across from Seaworld on the Gold Coast

When Tugun lab's Debbie Lyall turned out for the day, she didn't know what to expect. "But it was a very informative and fun morning," she says. "I would do it again in a flash! Not as hard as I expected, yet we could see the difference we'd made over a short period of time."

After the morning work, lunch was provided by the "Friends of Federation Walk". Some families made a day of it rewarding their kids with a visit to Seaworld, which was just across the road.

Gold Coast lab manager, Anne Morpeth, described the day as "a great experience on many levels. Not only did we feel a sense of achievement in helping the community and environment, but we learnt a lot about the local flora and fauna as well. "
