Histopathology is the largest department of its kind in the southern hemisphere, processing hundreds of thousands of individual patient episodes annually that generate millions of tissue sections for examination.

It performs the most extensive array of ancillary testing in Queensland including state-of-the-art immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence and, in conjunction with our genetics lab, the latest molecular testing.

Our specialist pathologists are known leaders in fields such as gynaecological and breast pathology, urological pathology, gastrointestinal pathology, renal pathology, pulmonary pathology, neuropathology, ocular pathology, and head and neck pathology.
