SNP offers COVID-19 RT-PCR for travellers at select testing locations in Queensland and Tweed Shire through Sonic Travel Testing.
Please check with your destination, transit country and airline for travel requirements and the recommended timeframe in which you need to show evidence of a negative COVID-19 PCR test.
Service update
- Travel testing is not available in other regions of northern New South Wales or the Northern Territory through SNP at this time.
- For travel to China:
- Testing for first PCR available within 48 hours of departure.
- Testing for second PCR on day of departure (same day of boarding) not available.
Ordering your COVID-19 travel test is a simple three-step process.
Step 1 Order and pay for your COVID-19 PCR test ($145 AUD)* through Sonic Travel Testing.
Step 2 Visit one of our travel testing locations for your test.
Step 3 Receive an SMS with your international COVID-19 travel report.

Important things to know
Will I need to prepare anything for my travel test?
Please print your prepaid pathology request form and have your passport on hand for when you go to have your sample collected. There are no special preparations required for a COVID-19 travel test.
Do I need a COVID-19 test before travelling to QLD?
Please refer to the Queensland Health website for current testing requirements.
Where can I have my test performed?
COVID-19 travel testing is available in Queensland and the Tweed Shire.
COVID-19 travel testing is not available in the Northern Territory.
Please refer to our locations for your nearest travel testing centre.
What if I'm departing from a different state or territory?
If you order your test through Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology, you must have your sample(s) collected at one of our collection centres in Queensland.
If you are departing from a different state or territory, you can select the appropriate Sonic Healthcare practice and order your test here.
